10 Steps to Success

10 Steps to Success
·       Setting Priorities- Health comes first without which we have nothing, followed by family & profession. Once the two are organized, third is taken care of automatically.

·       Ability to handle tough problems & not to hand them over to others- The brunt of making hard decision to be owned by the leader only.

·       Set & demand standards of excellence- Mediocrity is directly proportionate to compromise and once the leader compromises, the whole organization has to compromise.

·       Sense of urgency- It is always better to do something than to do nothing.

·       Attention to details- Getting facts is the key to good decision- making.

·       Commitment- A good performance can never be ensured without commitment.

·       Concentrate on the possibilities- Never worry about the things you can’t do anything.

·       Temperament & ability to digest failures- No innovation is possible unless a person is willing to accept mistakes.

·       Be tough but fair with people-Being tough means setting standards and demanding performance… A leader is not supposed to compromise in choosing people. He can’t let emotions get in the way while making a choice.

Fun- It means working & let colleagues work in a self- motivated, tension free & relaxed atmosphere.

  1. I beg to differ a little bit on this..
"Ability to handle tough problems & not to hand them over to others- The brunt of making hard decision to be owned by the leader only."

According to me true leader many a times delegates problematic area to the experts. Where a leader feels that he cannot succeed or when he has other priorities too, he has to find a suitable person ready to take onus of the same.
